Hi I'm Rebecca

I am a full-time stay-at-home mom with 4 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 5 children and grew up in Clayton, CA. My husband and I essentially grew up together but didn't start dating until college. I graduated with a b.s. degree is Sociology. We married in 1992 and have four beautiful children. I have been fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom all of their lives. My oldest is now a senior in high school and I am nervous about having a huge change in our lives with college just around the corner. I love to beautify my home and love to do crafts. I also enjoy scrap booking, reading, photography and playing the piano. I would say that I also am a runner, but with injuries, etc. that has been put on the back burner for awhile. I did run a 1/2 marathon, though, a couple years ago, and I would never have thought that I would ever do that! Never say never! If you put your mind to it, you can do anything! We just recently added a dog as the newest member of our family. My children have spent most of their lives trying to convince me that a dog would fit great into our family. They were right. We are also a foster family for dogs looking for good homes and waiting to be adopted.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom joined the church when she was 19 years old, and my dad has always been a member, so I was born into the church (as you might say). I leaned on my parents testimony while growing up, but learned about the gospel through my parents, my teachers, and the examples of other family members and friends. This is why I am happy. Being a member of the church gives me hope and much to look forward to. I have an incredible husband and four wonderful children that I know that I will be with forever. I can't imagine going through life knowing that death is the end. I know that Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for me. I know that He loves me. I know that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father know me by name and love me. They want me to be happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith 24/7. This is who I am. I don't drink, smoke, or use profane language. I try to speak kindly of others, and be a good example. All of my friends (and most acquaintances) know that I am LDS. I don't want it to be a secret. This is who I am. I am not ashamed of it. My responsibility currently is to look after, care for, and teach the teenage girls in my care. This is not an easy time for these girls. They are tempted by so many people and things throughout their lives, and they are strong. They are such good examples to me, and I look up to them! I also visit 3 ladies each month to give them a spiritual message, but also to see how they are doing. It is almost like an assigned friendship. I am grateful for that, though, because they aren't necessarily ladies that I would "hang out with", or that have the same interests as I do. In many of the cases we have grown to become great friends!
