Hi I'm Ben

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

i'm 18 and hope to go to Uni once I have served a mission for the Church. I'm quite a sporty guy and when I get the money I like to go travelling.

Why I am a Mormon

Simple answer is that i prayed to know whether Jesus is our saviour and if the Church was true and the Holy Ghost bore witness that it was. with that basis I have had spiritual experiences that reconfirms this and these in turn have helped me out in my day to day life. Though my parents were members and I grew up going to Church every Sunday I still questioned whether the Church is true. after a year or so of teenage rebellion I got on my knees and prayed to know if the path I was taking was right. I received a clear answer that I needed to stop my rebellious ways. Then through successive prayer, scripture study and Church activities my testimony has strengthened in all areas of the gospel. I know that Heavenly Father lives and is our loving Eternal Father and is the father of our spirits. I know that Jesus Christ lived and died for us that we may return to God in Heaven. I know that it is through his Atonement (His suffering in Gethsemane and his death and Resurrection) that we may be forgiven of our sins if we are sincerely sorry and more importantly put right what we have done wrong. I know that the Church was restored by Joseph Smith who became a Prophet just like Moses and Abraham were. Jospeh Smith translated an ancient record known as the Book of Mormon and that together with The Bible is holy Scripture. I know that today revelation still comes from Heaven and that today we have a Prophet on the Earth called Thomas S. Monson who leads and directs Jesus Christ's Church. I know that anyone can obtain a testimony like this and receive blessings in their life that helps them personally.

How I live my faith

Mainly by my actions and thoughts. I help organise activities for the young single people in my area from playing sports to simply watcing a movie to weekends away. I also help the missionaires in my area by teaching with them

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Either the missionary themselves raise the money which is highly encouraged but if this is not possible money comes from the parents of that missionary OR if this is not possible members who go to the local congregation will help put up the money. At the end of the day so long as the person is worthy ie living the gospel, they will go on a mission and money will not be a barrier to them serving the Lord. Show more Show less
