Hi I'm Lani

I am a wife, a mother, a friend, a sister, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I married my husband in September of 2005 and at that time I became an instant full time mother to his two children from a previous marriage. In November 2006 I gave birth to our son which has been such a great thing for all of us and has really unified our family. I babysit some children during the week and that brings me so much joy! I love to be outdoors. I love to be around children. I love to be around family. I love to be around friends. I love to go on hikes and swim and just be outdoors playing with my family! I love taking my kids to the park and riding bikes together. Life is so wonderful and has so many wonderful things to offer. What I love most about my life is that I have surrounded myself with the teachings of Jesus Christ. I have embraced His love and chosen to follow Him even when things get rough. He is the only one that can truly help me get through any trial I have. My relationships with my family and friends are so much greater thanks to my relationship with my Saviour Jesus Christ! Life is truly wonderful!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon church. My parents divorced when I was 14 years old and at that time my mother left the church. I continued to go off and on mainly because I had several friends who were members of the church. I completely stopped going when I was 18 years old and at that time lived my life away from my family and away from the church to try and discover who I was. I did lots of things that I knew were against the standards of the church, mostly to be defiant. After a few years of this lifestyle I began to realize something was missing from my life and nothing I was doing could fill that void I had. I started reading a book that was about a girl who was similar to me. I had been given this book when I was 16 by a dear friend who was sort of a grandfather figure to me. In this book, the girl had decided to change her life around and serve a mission for the church. When I had gotten to that point in the book I got an overwhelming feeling that that is what I needed to do however I was scared because I didn't want to tell my dad or any other members of my family. Well, I went and saw the Bishop, started the repentance process and started getting ready for my mission. I ended up serving my mission in the South which was such an eye opener to me. It taught me a lot about myself as well as the gospel and how to love everyone because they are all Heavenly Father's children. When I got home from my mission, I met my husband online while I was going to school. I ended up moving to Idaho to be with him and then get married. Being a part of the Mormon church is the best thing. It's not just about being a member of the church but having a real relationship with my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ. I am learning to fully put my trust in them and do what they would have me do and as I've done this I have received many a blessings from them. It is amazing how much they love each and every one of us. It is amazing that we have a Prophet on the Earth today to help lead and guide us in the path that we should follow. Jesus Christ is truly at the head of His church. I know that to be true. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of our Saviour Jesus Christ and that when I read from the Book of Mormon I feel such a peace in my life and I can be a better person by following the teachings. While the people in the church are not perfect the church itself is and that is because Jesus is at the head of it!

How I live my faith

In my current ward, I have been here for 5 1/2 years now. For the last 3 1/2 years I have been serving with the Primary aged children ages ranging from 3-6. I have truly loved working with these beautiful children of God. They have taught me so much about the love that our Heavenly Father has for each of us. They have taught me humility, love, charity and so much more. I was just released from this calling and it is such a bittersweet feeling. I will miss them so so much but it will be so nice to get to know the sisters and the other adults in the ward. I have such a great love for all people and I love being able to get to know them and get to hear of their testimonies more as it helps build mine. I have recently more fully understood the love that our Saviour has for each of us and I've wanted to know more and to study more of Him and His life that He lived and the perfect example He is to each of us. I have learned that He loves us and really truly wants us to return to live with our Heavenly Father. He just asks for us to come unto Him and He then pours out His blessings upon us. Growing up I heard that a lot and never really understood what that meant. I am beginning to understand that and I love it! As I look back on my life I can see His hand in it all. These last few months as I've dedicated my life to Him I have seen so many more blessings come about in my life and I am simply amazed at the love that He feels for us! I love it!
