Hi I'm Ed Conelly

I am married with children. I have three wonderful sons and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love working on cars. I guess I am what you call a shade tree mechanic. I have no formal training but have been working on cars since I was young boy. I love figuring out why something is not working and then making it work. There is such a feeling of accomplishment you get when you work with your hands. I also like to play the guitar, again no formal training but have been playing since I was teenager. I am self taught and play all types of music. I am partial to country western. I seem to have an ear for hearing a song and then picking it out on the guitar. I do not read music put I can play just about all known chord progressions, and love to figure out how to play songs. I love being a husband, father and grandfather. There is no greater calling than that of a parent. I really know what it means to have the heart of the fathers turn to their children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the LDS Church as a young boy by a Sis. Kay Broulett who invited my sisters and I to attend church with her when we were living in San Diego. Later the missionaries were invited to our home to teach us more about the gospel. I have fond memories of Elder Chase and Elder Robertson and the message of the restoration and plan of happiness they shared with us. I thank Heavnly Father every day for sending Sis. Broulett and the Elders into my life. I often wonder if they know what an impact they have had on my life. Their selfless act of sharing the gospel has brought such happiness into my life. I have a beautiful wife that I was sealed (married) to in the Seattle Temple and we have three wonderful sons. All three are Eagle Scouts and after graduating from high school served honorable full time missions for two years. Teaching others about Jesus Christ just like Elder Chase and Elder Robertson did so many years ago. All of my sons have been sealed in the temple to their eternal companions. I have four grandchildren and hope more are on the way. Living the gospel has not always been easy and I have had my share of struggles. However I know that without the gospel I would not have been able to get through those times in one piece. This is life eternal to know who I am and where I am going. This gives me such great peace and comfort in a world that seems ever in turmoil.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by following the golden rule do unto others as you would have them do unto you. My wife and I love being home teachers and visiting teachers. Getting to know the members of the ward and providing service when it is need. I have held many callings over my years of service in the church. I think the most rewarding have been teaching the youth. I loved being a Scout Master and teaching young men about being prepared. Working with the youth I feel has kept me young at heart. It was also great to see my sons progress through scouting from cubs all the way to scoutings highest achievement Eagle Scout. I have also particpated in community activities like parks appreciation, national night out and paint Tacoma beautiful. It is a good feeling giving something back to a community that has provided me a wonderful place to raise my family. I love how my faith as taught me to be self reliant. Like the apostle Paul said we determine our own salvation. I like being in control of my eternal progression.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Ed Conelly
NO! We help all come unto Christ. In my 43 years as a member of this church I have provided more service to non members than members. Christ taught that there are two great commandment the first is to Love the Lord with all thy heart might mind and strength. The second is like the first love thy neighbor as thy self. We invite all to enjoy in the blessings of following in the footsteps of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was the greatest example of showing love to all he came in contact with. We share is eternal goal as stated in Moses 1:39 For behold this is my work and my glory to bring to past the eternal life and exhaltation of man. Show more Show less
