Hi I'm Kristie Hinckley

I am a student. I love to craft. I enjoy spending time with my family. I love all things Hungarian.

About Me

I am the second of six children. My family means the world to me. I love capturing memories through pictures. I love all things crafty. I enjoy playing the piano. I served a mission in Budapest, Hungary. I am studying Elementary Education.

Why I am a Mormon

As I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I have been happy. I know that as we obey the commandments and standards that the Lord has put in place in this church we can be happy. I love that! I know that Jesus Christ atoned for the sins of the world so that we can one day return to our Father in Heaven with a clean hands and a pure heart. None of us are perfect, but because of the sacrifice of God's perfect Son, we can have eternal life. Our loving Heavenly Father has given us so many resources to help us return to Him. These include living prophets, the scriptures, including the Bible and the Book of Mormon, and prayer. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and living it makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I attend weekly sacrament meetings. I strive to be like Jesus Christ. I live the standards of the church, including being morally clean, using good language, serving others, watching and listening to uplifting movies and music, and trying to be a good friend. I live my faith by sharing it! As I have come to know for my self that this church is true and seen the happiness that it has brought into my life, I have gained a desire to share it with others!

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Kristie Hinckley
As I have learned about this church and gained a knowledge of the truthfulness of it's gospel, I have gained a desire to share it with others. The gospel of Jesus Christ makes me happy and I want to be able to share this way to happiness with others. I have volunteered to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have been assigned to serve in the Hungary Budapest mission and I am so excited to share the things that I know about this church with the people of Hungary and help them to come unto Christ. In addition, Savior taught his disciples, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations" (Matthew 29:19). Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Kristie Hinckley
We should have faith in Jesus Christ. We read in Acts that "there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Having faith in Jesus Christ means that we trust him, we have confidence in Him, and we are willing to act on our belief in Him. Show more Show less

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Kristie Hinckley
In Malachi 3:8-10, we read that as we pay tithing in faith, the Lord will "open the windows of heaven and pour down blessings that there will not be room enough to receieve them". Mormons pay 10% of their income to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it is commanded and we know that it is moving the work of the Church forward. I have paid tithing since I was a child and I know that I am blessed as I pay tithing. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Kristie Hinckley
Yes! I know that God loved His children then and gave them a prophet to lead them. Through prophets we know the mind and will of God. As we follow their counsel, we can live a life that is worthy to return back to the presence of God. I know that Thomas S. Monson is God's mouthpiece on the earth today. Show more Show less
