Hi I'm Tim

I'm a college student. I play guitar. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 21-year-old college student. I love reading, playing guitar, singing, and playing any type of sport you can throw at me, but mainly basketball, tennis, and football. I've got a big family, two wonderful parents, with eight children. I have five sisters and two brothers, and I am the second to last child. I'm studying Biology, but not sure exactly what I want to do with my life. I love to learn, though homework is not my favorite thing to do. I'm a big Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings fan.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the confirming witness of the Spirit that God is there and that He loves all of us individually. More than that, I have read the story of Joseph Smith, and I have felt in the core of my heart and soul that his story is true, that God speaks to man today, that Jesus is the Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, that the Book of Mormon is a true book and an additional witness of the divinity of Jesus Christ, and that God guides His church through a living prophet. I know that I have been blessed abundantly thanks to the Gospel. I feel more peace, more confidence, more love, and more purpose in life. My family has the closest bonds and the greatest love for each other that I know due in great measure to the Jesus Christ and the principles of His Gospel. I am a Mormon because it feels right. Death is not the end. There is too much order and beauty in life for me to believe that it all happened by pure chance. I have found more peace and happiness in following Jesus Christ and living the principles of His Gospel than in doing anything else in my life. He is there for all of us. He knows you. He knows me. Sometimes He is the only One who understands how we feel and who can help us. I cannot count the times where I have felt a complete solitude and loneliness, and through prayer I have found a remarkable source of comfort. Christ lives. God loves us. This is the foundation of my life. This is why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

"What you do speaks so loud that I cannot hear what you are saying." - Ralph Waldo Emerson Every man or woman of faith should apply this quote. I am not perfect. Far from it, in fact, but I strive to not only proclaim my faith but to show my faith through my actions. I strive to be kind to everyone. In heated or trying situations, I honestly try to ask myself "What would Christ do?" I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I attend church every week, barring extenuating circumstances, and I have accepted callings, or responsibilities, such as helping organize activities for the youth in my wards and inviting them to participate, and serving as Co-President of the seminary at East High School. I served as a full-time missionary in France for the Church, meaning that I devoted two years of my life to sharing the Gospel and the happiness it has brought me with the people in France. I study the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and other scripture each day, and I strive to follow the example of Jesus Christ, who "went about doing good" (Acts 10:38).
