Hi I'm Mik

I'm from Ohio. I play xbox, read sci fi, and am an Eagle scout. I'm an all around Nerd... and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I currently work in retail, saving up for college. I served as a Missionary in the California Arcadia Mission. I am the eldest of three boys, and I love my family. I played a lot of Xbox back home! I love singing and dancing, in fact one of my favorite Xbox games is Just Dance 3! I love being with my friends, either playing Xbox or going out to wreak havoc on some other friends! Just good, clean fun!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. I have been a member my whole life. It only became official when I was baptized at 8 years old. That is not to say that I have a hand-me-down belief in this Church. I am a Mormon because I want to be. I have read the Book of Mormon, compared it to the Bible, and prayed to the Lord to know if it's true. I received my answer from the Lord through the Holy Spirit. I know for myself, because of the witness the Holy Spirit gave to me, that the Book of Mormon is true, and that there is a real Prophet on the Earth as well as modern day Apostles. This witness that I had received is available to ALL who will read the Book of Mormon and ask the Lord if it is true. I've learned this for myself, and encourage anyone and EVERYONE to do the same.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the church as an Assistant Scoutmaster and teacher for 12-13 year old young men, but I also try to help the people I know outside to church to develop good relationships with our Father in Heaven. I try to read the scriptures, including the Bible and the Book of Mormon every day. I also strive to pray every day, hoping that constant communication will help me make good choices in life (I need all the help I can get). I want to be happy, and I like helping people be happy. Isn't that what the Lord wants for us all?

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Young Men who reach the age of 18 after they graduate from High School are expected to go on missions; while young Women aged 19 and over may serve if they desire, but aren't under the same Priesthood obligation as the Men. While this may seem like an awful lot to ask a person to dedicate two years of his/her life to the Lord's service, we see it as a privilege! I have often heard that the two years spent on a mission are the best two years of a person's life. Not only can one spend that time being filled with the influence of the Holy Spirit, but also bring others unto the truth as well. We have all tasted of the exceedingly sweet fruit that is the Gospel of Peace, and we want everyone to taste of it as well. Jesus invites all to come unto him. Should we not be anxiously engaged to serve as bridge builders for His children to get back to Him? Show more Show less
