Hi I'm Preston

I'm a husband, father, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am getting ready for graduate school, and living in California. My lovely wife and I have been married for over seven years. We have a son and two beautiful daughters. Our son was diagnosed with autism and ADHD when he was three. One of my favorite traits of our son is his complete purity. I would love to have that quality myself. Our little family is a lot of fun. There is always stress, but no worries, we're together. Probably my true passion in life is learning. I love to acquire new facts, figures, stories, or whatever it may be. I have a hunger for it. Whether it is history, biology, sociology, or random pop-culture, there is always something to soak up. My need for information and understanding started early and was aided by TV, especially by different shows on Discovery, Science, and the History channels. I am always reading. It is-simply put-the most efficient way of learning new things. I love all kinds of books, but my favorites are found in the creative non-fiction section. People are amazingly interesting, and whether they express themselves through memoirs, essays, a daily column, or whatever, I can't get enough.

Why I am a Mormon

We all need to feel loved and accepted. This church is a large loving family. It's whole purpose is to take care of everyone. We have highs and lows in our personal lives and it is comforting to know we are not only looked after, but can assist someone else when they need it. The Savior's gospel has always been a message of love and guidance. He wants us to not only come and live with Him after we die, but He wants us to experience joy and happiness while we're still here. I know if we follow the Gospel He has laid out for us, we can have that. He blesses me so much. And I am grateful to Him for guiding me even when I'm not paying the most attention. I am a Mormon because I have a testimony the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. I have an abiding testimony the Book of Mormon is holy scripture, and we have prophets on the earth today. I have seen the fruits of membership in the church, and they are sweet.

How I live my faith

My wife and I are currently called to serve sunday school teachers to the 12-14 year-olds in our ward. Each Sunday I am able to help teach a lesson on various gospel doctrines and principles. One of the best ways I try to live my faith is by simply being a good person. I believe it's important to be kind and curteous. To honestly try and make peoples lives happier now: open a door, share a smile, really anything that lifts someone else's spirit.
