Hi I'm Todd

I am a California native for life. I love basketball, and the opportunity to serve the Lord in Brazil, and New Mexico. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am Todd. I have lived my whole life in California, and I am 19 years old, born on St. Patrick's Day. I was born with a cleft lip and pectus excavatum, or a dent in my chest. I have graduated High School, and played 4 yrs of basketball. I have 2 older sisters, 2 older brothers, and 1 younger brother. I love oldies music. I love helping people with work and serving others. I love being able to serve the Lord on a mission to Brazil, and currently serve in New Mexico waiting for my visa.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have since learned about and experienced other religions, yet none of them give the satisfaction and happiness that the LDS church brings. I have learned, through obedience and diligence, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that this is His true church.

How I live my faith

I live Mormonism through service. I love helping people do things that they otherwise couldn't do themselves. I especially enjoy helping people move, because that is where my father would take us when we were young to get us to learn to enjoy work, which is possible. I am also an Eagle Scout and a Gold Venturer, which both require a significant amount of service and educational experiences.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

The missionaries proselyte because we want you to be just as happy as we are. We have missionaries who have been on both sides of the fence, and know how awesome the transition is. The Gospel of Jesus Christ can make anyone in the world, no matter the level of intelligence or social standing, happy. I know this to be true, because I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to God to see if these things are true, and he has put the feelings in my heart that tell me there is nothing as true on the earth as the Book of Mormon. What is being a Mormon like?

Being Mormon is awesome. You will be able to experience joy that you have never experienced in your life. You will be able to help out your community through your example and meet a great many new people, through your experience with the church. You will be able to feel the love that our Savior has for each of us. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe the family is the central unit to society. God has restored his power and authority to "bind on earth and in heaven", or have our families sealed together for time and all eternity. That is how important families are to God. For 1, he gave us our families to learn and grow with, and 2, the opportunity to live with God again with our families. I'm sure everyone can agree, there are many things that we otherwise couldn't know and understand of it wasn't for families Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

My answer to this would have to be, of course not. A question to answer the question would be, "Did Christ only serve those who followed him?" He did not. As we can read in the scriptures, Christ worked among the sick and afflicted. He went serving and helping all, not just select individuals. One of the things I enjoy the most about this church is the immense number of service opportunities offered through the Church. Especially as a missionary, one of the greatest joys, and the thing we are called to do, is to be like Christ: to go forth and serve in some part of the world. We would not be able to wear the name of Jesus Christ on our badge if we did not serve anyone and everyone. So that is a huge part of our church. It is serving. Show more Show less

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

A question to answer a question," How much has God given you?" The answer is fairly simple: everything. 10% of our income is not that much, when we consider, God is giving us 90%. And that 10% we pay goes towards things that help members as well as non-members of the Church. That money goes towards building church buildings, temples, allowing missionaries to spread the Gospel worldwide, print copies of the Book of Mormon, support those hit by major natural dissasters, and a great many other things. All these things, mentioned and not, are all made possible from the faithful tithe payers of the church. The child who pays his dollar and dime, to the millionaire who pays his thousands. Every little bit helps further the work of the Lord. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is as it's title states, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. We do not discredit the Bible. We believe the Bible as long as it is translated corectly. Other than that, we believe the Bible and The Book of Mormon support each other, and prove the validity of both books. The Bible is the records of Gods dealings with prophets in Jerusalem, such as Noah, Moses, Abraham, and prophets like that. The Book of Mormon is a record of Gods dealings with the inhabitants of the ancient America's. The way that we can recieve an answer to any question we have, would be, you guessed it, ask God. Just as the introduction to the Book of Mormon stated, we don't have to take anyones word for it and believe it. All we need to do is to pray and ask God. And if you ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, He will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost, you may know the truth of all things. Show more Show less
