Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a wife, mother of 2, musician, teacher, 80's rock fan, chocolate lover, outdoors enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a child of the 80's. I'm married and a mother of two. I'm a classically trained violinist and singer and I work part time as a music teacher and studio instructor. I love the outdoors, camping, hiking(especially at night), 80's rock, dark chocolate, and guacamole!! I go to the woods with my friends and family as often as my schedule permits. I am addicted to the Twilight saga and sappy chick flicks and I'm hoping to see Bigfoot one day!!

Why I am a Mormon

My family joined the church when I was ten years old. Even though I was young, I recognized that there was something different about this church. I felt like I belonged and that I was part of an amazing family. As I grew up and went through the young women's program I learned that what I was feeling was the Spirit. I learned to pray and learned that my Heavenly Father knows me personally and that he hears and answers my prayers. I learned that Jesus Christ is my personal savior. I learned that families can be forever and that I was an essential and precious part of my family. I learned that I am unique and was blessed with special gifts and talents so that I might serve my family, friends and community. There is a great peace in knowing where I came from, why I'm here and where I'm going and that my family can be with me always if we strive to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I serve as the president of the young women's program in my ward. I meet with the girls ages 12-17 on Sundays and Wednesday nights. We encourage the girls to come unto Christ by helping them set and achieve goals in 8 areas of focus and to live the standards of the church. We also look for opportunities for service in the ward and our community. I love the girls I serve. They are amazing and teach me so much.
