Hi I'm Lisa!

I'm a Mormon and lovin' every minute of it.

About Me

I am a wife, mother of three, daughter, sister and high school administrative assistant. I LOVE to read, run, watch movies and just hang out with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was just a little girl. But, as I grew older, I developed a testimony of my own of this wonderful church and all the good it does. I dabbled in inactivity for a while, but returned to my roots. It just brings happiness and peace to my life. I can't imagine being or doing anything else. The gospel of Jesus Christ and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is who I am. It is woven into the very fabric of my being. I love this Church! It answers all my questions like who I am, why I am here, where I am going, can I be with my loved ones forever? I am a beloved daughter of God, who came to Earth to learn and grow and who is striving to return to live with Him someday in the company of my family because of the blessings of temple marriage. Whew! That's a mouthful, but I believe it to all be true!

How I live my faith

Besides the obvious, going to Church on Sunday, I try to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ in my daily life. I try to live with integrity, living and acting according to my knowledge of right and wrong. We are so blessed with latter day prophets to help guide us through these tumultuous times, I keep their words and guidance close to my heart, as well. I help out at church by producing the Sunday Program that everyone receives. It's not hard, but it helps me feel involved and helpful. Everyone wants to feel needed!

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Lisa!
All Mormons are not REQUIRED to serve a mission, but ENCOURAGED to do so. Young Men who choose to serve a mission do so usually from the ages of 19 to 21. Young Women can serve missions, too. They usually go between the ages of 21 to 23. This is such a great thing. As a mother of teenagers, I know how selfish they can be at this age! These boys put themselves aside for two years and focus on serving the Lord by giving service to those communities they are called to serve in and sharing the message of Jesus Christ. For a mother, what a wonderful relief it is to turn these young men over to the Lord to finish raising into men. Truly they come home men! Show more Show less
