Hi I'm Ben

Hello, my name is Ben, I was born in Utah, raised in California. I'm a web and graphics designer/entrepreneur, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I served a full-time mission in Saint Louis Missouri 1979-1981. I am married to Mona Liza. We were sealed in the Manila Philippines Temple in March of 2007. My interests are photography, videography, web and graphics design. I enjoy reading the scriptures and other church publications every day. I am also very much interested in history and science.

Why I am a Mormon

Trying to answer this question..."why I am a Mormon" I feel a little like Simon Peter, when Jesus said unto the twelve, "Will ye also go away?"..."Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God." I believe that Jesus Christ Restored and organized His church through the prophet Joseph Smith. He, The Lord, continues to actively guide His church today through His prophet Thomas Monson, just as he did anciently though the prophets of old. Like Peter, I ask myself... "where else would I go?" This is where the revealed words of Eternal Life are to be found, I most assuredly believe that, and am sure that Christ, the Son of The living God, lives and guides this church today.

How I live my faith

It's been said that there are three things one must do in life to be able to return home and live with our Heavenly Father in his kingdom. Sincere repentance daily, Forgive others always, and be nice even when you have a good reason not to be. My faith teaches me to do those things, and that's what life is all about...becoming a better person every day one small step at a time.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Christ rose from the dead, thereby allowing all of us regardless of how we live our lives, to also one day rise from the dead. So the way I understand it, we all live again by Grace, a free gift, but we will be judged according to our works and the deeds done in this life. Think about it... before we stand before God to be judged, we will be resurrected to live forever, never to die again. After receiving this wonderful amazing gift from God which alone is more than I can even comprehend how awesome it will be, then we will stand before HIm and be judged by our actions in this life and given our just reward. He gives us so very much but asks so little. All he asks us is that we do our best to live his commandments every day. If we fall short, all he asks is that we repent and He freely forgives. Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

The standards required to enter the Temple give me something to aspire to, to help me become a better person. The standards are high, but achievable. The Lord and His church are there to help me every step of the way. Show more Show less
