Hi I'm Alanna

I grew up in Canada. I am a wife and a mother of three. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as the youngest of 4 siblings. Both my parents are converts to the church. My mother joined first and faithfully took her children to church by herself. It wasn't until 14 years later that my dad became a member. I grew up in the faith but it wasn't until I was about 16 years old that I really grew a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. When I was 20 years old I traveled with Up With People for a year and met people from all walks of life. It was a bit of a culture shock for me, but what kept me grounded was the knowledge that I had, that I was a Child of God and no matter where I was or who I was with I could always count on Him for guidance and comfort. My testimony grew so much from that experience as a discovered the woman that I was and who I wanted to be. I also found out that no matter where you are, the gospel and the people are all the same. By living the gospel, I met my wonderful husband. We were married in the temple and have three amazing children, who challenge us every day to be better people and parents. I love life and I love being a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes sense to me that God would give us a gospel that is the same as when Jesus Christ was on earth. Being a Mormon gives me hope and joy that I will live with my Father in heaven once again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday as I teach my children to be kind, loving and honest human beings. I live my faith by praying to my Father in Heaven and reading the scriptures daily. When I sing a hymn in my head, I am living the gospel or when I share what I believe to my friends and family I am living my faith.

Are Mormons Christians?

Alanna
Yes we are. Christ is at the center of our beliefs and it is His example that we follow everyday, in our own lives. Show more Show less
