Hi I'm Janet A

I'm a Mormon. I have so much to be grateful for!

About Me

I am a very ordinary person. I am married and come from a large family, and have a large family. I find parenting teenagers difficult but immensely rewarding, even if I don't always get it right! I manage to juggle raising a family with work, keeping in contact with my extended family and my mum, trying to be a good person and having a bit of free time. Sometimes it all goes pear shaped and whoops, something comes crashing down. Time to pick up the juggling balls and start again!

Why I am a Mormon

I was two years of age when my parents joined the church over 50 years ago. The gospel has been everything to me. I know that the Saviour loves and cares for me. He has never let me down, and has been there when things have been so very tough. The love of Jesus Christ gives me peace in this turbulent world and joy in day to day living. The gospel gives me the knowledge that I will see my dad and brother and grandmothers again, and meet my grandfathers, both of whom I never knew and that me and my family can be together again. Can you understand now why the gospel, and it's teachings are the living water from which we will never thirst?

How I live my faith

I try to follow the Saviour's plan. I read daily from the scriptures and talk to my Heavenly Father in prayer. I try to be kind and loving to those around me (can be as tough at home as at work!) and help those around me who are in need. I try to be a source of strength and comfort to my friends, and combine all this with having fun and having a laugh with life. At church I try to be a good example and I enjoying learning from everyone in our congregation. Life is to be enjoyed as well as endured!

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Janet A
Absolutely I do! I love to hear the prophet speak and get the opportunity to hear him and the other apostles via the internet twice a year at general conference. He really knows what the Saviour would have us know, right there, right now. He is a prophet of the Lord for me, my family and you! Listen to him speak and he will tell you how to find greater happiness and joy and that peace which we seek in this mixed up world. You can hear Thomas S Monson, prophet of today, speak direct to you on the first weekends in April and October at lds.org. You will feel his spirit as he speaks to you and teaches and inspires you.
