Hi I'm Sheri

I love to run, I love spending quality time with my family and friends, I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

At this moment I'm studying to become a community health educator. My dream is to some day travel to a 3rd world country and help the people gain knowledge of how to live a healthier life. I love to be active and do many things outdoors. I love to wakeboard, camp, hike, play soccer and many different sports. I also have the opportunity to be involved in many things at the University I attend. I'm president of one of the clubs/organizations we have and I also am a peer mentor for incoming students so that they can have an easier transition to college life. Reading is not one of my favorite hobbies, but when it comes to reading the scriptures it is my favorite thing. I recently returned from serving a full time mission in Los Angeles California. There I had the opportunity to serve in a Visitor Center and also to proselyte through out the streets of Los Angeles. As a missionary I was able to help people draw closer to Jesus Christ and their Heavenly Father. Being able to serve a mission is one of the best life changing things that anyone could experience. It allowed me to view people differently. To also love each and every person I meet.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with this religion. And some people assume that it was forced upon me. Well it wasn't. It definitely was a decision that i made for myself. Through my life i would attend church each week and finally one day i realized that i needed to know for myself if this church is true. When i was about 15 years old i received my own witness that this church is true. And over the years my testimony of this gospel has been strengthened so much. When we have experiences in our lives and we can turn to the Atonement of Jesus Christ. When we do that are hearts change. We see the impact that it has in our lives and how through any trial or hardship we have our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. Going back to the question...I'm mormon because i know this church to be true. I have received my own witness that it is true, and i have seen it bless and change the lives of so many people that I could never ever deny the truth it contains. I'm mormon because i know that this is Gods true church on the earth, and through it i can be with my family and friends forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church each week. When i go to church i also have the opportunity to teach a class that helps young adults prepare to become full time missionaries. This has been an amazing experience for me because each time I teach I get the opportunity to share my testimony and also share the experiences I had as a missionary. I also attend the temple as much as i can. When I go to the temple it is such a sacred experience and it helps strengthen my testimony and I also can feel the spirit even stronger in my life. I also read my scriptures and pray to my father in heaven each and everyday. Prayer is one of the most essential things we need as human beings. Through prayer we can seek guidance from our father in heaven and also gain a stronger relationship with him. Also in my congregation we meet up each week to have activities strengthen each others testimonies and help with in service that are congregations needs.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Sheri
As members of our church we believe that we are all God's children. We are here to serve and help those around us. Much of what our church donates goes to people who aren't members of our faith. Show more Show less
