Hi I'm Megan

I love completing "To Do" lists, I'm a laugher, I find cleaning therapeutic, I'm NOT perfect, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently returned from serving an 18 month mission for the church in Los Angeles where I had the most incredible time of my life teaching others about the doctrine or teachings of Jesus Christ. I'm from a town that has NO stoplights, (yes those still exist!) and am so grateful for trials. Everything that has been difficult in my life has refined me to being a better person! I don't alway feel that way in the middle of the trial, but love the sweet peace that comes when I can look back and see what the Lord was molding me into. My family is crazy! There is nothing traditional about us, and I love it. Being with people I love is one of the most important things to me, so having an eternal family is incredible. One of my favorite quotes in life is, "A day without laughter, is a day wasted!" I try to live by that every day, and living the gospel of Jesus Christ is really what makes ME Happy! Along with the occasional piece of chocolate and a day in the sun :)

Why I am a Mormon

The experiences that I've had in my life have given me an undeniable confirmation that this is Jesus Christ's restored church here upon the Earth. There came a time in my life, just as most others, when I needed to know once and for all if God was there, and if this was where I needed to be. I was invited to read a book of scripture, The Book of Mormon and then to pray and ask God if it was true. Being only about 12 years old, this was a bit of a daunting task. As I read and prayed, my heart changed. I didn't understand the story lines perfectly, or always what the scriptures meant, but I felt something. Heavenly Father answered my prayers as I asked Him if the Book of Mormon was true. He answered me in a very personal way, just for me, to know that He loved me, and that this was in fact truth. That very moment has changed my life forever! And the best part is that every child of God has that same invitation. Anyone can read the Book of Mormon and come closer to their Savior Jesus Christ. That is the beauty of the gospel, it is a one size fits all, yet tailored to my every need or concern.

How I live my faith

I don't believe in just going to church for a few hours on Sunday, and calling my spirituality covered for the week! My beliefs in God and Jesus Christ don't just determine my religion, but are an intricate part of my every day life, my lifestyle. I believe knowing something and living it, are 2 totally different things. For me, living things I'm taught on Sunday through out the week has brought me so much JOY! I do my best to live every day in such a way that I can feel the Spirit lead and guide me in my life. I look for opportunities to share with others the happiness I've discovered from keeping the commandments. I enjoy lending a helping hand to serve others around me in church and community settings. Being part of the women's group at church is so much fun, and so fulfilling. I am able to visit other women in my congregation and together we strengthen and edify one another in many aspects of our lives.

In whom should we have faith?

Jesus Christ absolutely is who I put my faith in. Having faith in Him, or trusting in Him and His love for me, is the foundation for my relationship with Jesus Christ. It's not enough for me to say I believe in him, but my faith in Him is an action, something I do. Once I understood that principle, I have felt closer to Him than I have ever imagined!
