Hi I'm Katy

I was born and raised in Las Vegas. I love my family! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 49 year old wife and mother of 2 wonderful sons. My husband is pretty terrific too! I love spending time with them more than anything else in the world! I love to travel and have visited 26 foreign countries. I graduated from college with a BS in nursing. My husband and I love following BYU sports. I love to read, visit with friends, go on family vacations, sit on the beach and listen to the crashing waves and watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I don't really like to work out, but I do it anyways! Oh, and I am grateful for my iPod which is filled with my favorite music - it sure helps that workout time go by faster!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found that following the teachings of Jesus Christ is the only way to have true peace and happiness in my life. I was born into a wonderful family who taught me the gospel from a very young age. I was baptized when I was 8, but didn't really gain a testimony until I was 19 or 20. That was when I first prayerfully read the Book of Mormon intent on finding out for myself it's truthfulness. My prayers were answered. My understanding of who I was, why I was here and where I could go deepened and my desire to live the principles of the gospel strengthened. I love knowing that the family is an eternal unit. I love the Mormon lifestyle and the values we have. I love knowing that when I go to church I am literally surrounded by brothers and sisters. I love knowing that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and watches over me and those that I so dearly love.

How I live my faith

I hopefully live my faith by exemplifying the values that I believe in. I try to work hard, be honest, be kind, be grateful, be a good wife and mom and be a good neighbor and member of my community. Ultimately, I live my faith by doing everything I can to follow the example of Jesus Christ. As parents, we have tried to be good examples to our children and teach them correct principles. We all support each other as we serve in our church-related callings. My husband served a full time mission in Korea and my sons have followed his example and are or have served missions too. My husband I currently work with the young adults in our area. We love their energy, their enthusiasm and their strong testimonies. They inspire us! The associations we have made through service in the church have been sweet indeed.
