Hi I'm Brett

I'm a Controller of a construction company, an avid reader, a father of three, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a second generation native Arizonan and I love all things Arizona. I especially love rooting for the local sports teams including those of Arizona State University where I attended college and earned an Accounting degree. I am a happily married man with a beautiful wife and three wonderful children. I come from a big family and loved growing up with a lot of brothers and sisters. I still enjoy getting together with my parents and siblings about as much as I enjoy anything. Besides my family and sports, I love to read fiction novels in the mystery and action adventure genres. I also love to watch movies. I've rated nearly 3,000 movies on my Netflix account.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints so I was raised as a Mormon. I was baptized when I was eight years old. I believed what I was taught by my parents and in church because I knew that my parents were happy and truly believed in and lived what they were teaching me. As I got older and had the opportunity to read The Book of Mormon for myself and to have more life experience as I went through high school I continued to find that when I put into practice the gospel of Jesus Christ, I was indeed happier than when I didn't. I felt the Holy Ghost on many occasions testifying to me that these things were indeed of God. Because of that I chose to serve a mission and was lucky enough to get to serve in Italy for two years where I continued to have experiences that demonstrated to me that the Lord was with me and approved of what I was doing. I've continued to follow this path throughout my adulthood and I continue to find that when I follow the Lord's commandments and participate fully in my church meetings and assignments that I and my family are blessed. We have not been blessed with wealth but we have been blessed with happiness. We are not a perfect family but there is a lot of joy in our household and I know that is a direct result of the things that my wife and I live and teach to our children. I guess that is the easiest way to sum up why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I have learned first hand that the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are true and that living those teachings brings peace and happiness into my life and into the lives of my family members.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow the example of my Savior Jesus Christ. I try to be kind to everyone around me and to treat them like the children of God that they are. I try to be a good husband to my wife and loving father to my children. I read the scriptures with my family and we pray together often. I try to obey God's commandments. I have served in various different capacities in my church including working with our young men ages 12-13 as a Boy Scout leader.
