Hi I'm Alan

I'm an investment advisor in Texas. I like running and cycling. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've even done a few triathlons although swimming is not my strong suit. I like other outdoor activities too, such as hiking and skiing, especially with my wife, children, or other family members. I also like reading and studying, mostly in two areas - gospel topics and investment topics.

Why I am a Mormon

I love having purpose in my life. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ provides purpose and gives meaning to all the decisions that I make. I also find that I am much happier when I have balance in my life. The gospel provides a framework for maintaining balance. With a strong sense of purpose and with help in balancing work, family, faith, and fitness - life is good. I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

For me, living my faith is all about unselfish Christ-like service and striving to become more Christ-like in my personal life. Fortunately I have been given many opportunities to serve in visiting people in their homes, in various leadership roles, and in different teaching positions. I've also enjoyed special projects such as hurricane clean-up efforts and community assistance activities that have been rewarding. Helping others do things they can't do for themselves is a great feeling plus it reminds me of the Savior Jesus Christ doing things for us that we couldn't do for ourselves.
