Hi I'm Dan

I'm a Mormon. I live in Texas, a place where you can watch your dog run away for 2 days...

About Me

I am a vice president of a construction company and manage the Design department as well as Quality Assurance and Safety Departments. I enjoy motorcycles, hunting and fishing, reloading ammunition and archery. I enjoy golfing and the outdoors. I am married to a wonderful Korean fire cracker of a woman, the father of 5, 3 of our own and 2 adopted. My oldest son is on a mission in Seattle WA, oldest daughter was married last Oct is attending BYU and is expecting our first grandchild. I have another son who is also attending BYU. I love my family, we are very happy and I credit that to having the gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the religion makes sense to me. It answers all my questions about where I came from, why I am here and where I am going. It brings much fullfillment to my life and constant direction. It has helped me develop a personal relationship with my Savior and my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I have always found it fasinating the degree to which people watch and evaluate members of the mormon faith. I have often wondered why, it doesn't seem to be that way for people of other faiths. I try and surround myself with people of the best character and strive to live in such a way that people won't see me as a bad example of mormonism. I truly believe that if a thing leads me closer to Christ that it is from Christ and if it leads me away from Christ it is of the Devil and should be avoided.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

I get this question a lot from those who I work with. To me it's about being in control of my body and staying healthy and strong. The Word of Wisdom is God's law of health and it makes a whole lot of sense. If a substance creates any type of dependency or addiction, then we should stay away from it. Ask any successful businessman and they will tell you how dangerous it is to conduct business after a few drinks. Think about it.  Show more Show less
