Hi I'm Dawn

I'm a Registered Nurse, I'm a SciFi nut, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Registered Nurse with a large Oncology group just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. I love being a nurse; helping others is something I never get tired of. Although sad at times, it is a very rewarding profession. I'm single, never married, but still hopeful that special someone is out there. I love to learn; if not so expensive I would be a full time student. I love nature; just watching the birds in my back yard infuse me with joy for the whole day. I love to watch movies, mostly SciFi and action adventure, something that has so many twists and turns in the plot you have no idea what will happen next. I love being a member of Relief Society (A women's organization within the church). Within this group no one is alone, we are all sisters, learning and striving to better ourselves together.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member since at the age of 3, two God inspired missionaries knocked at my parents door. Growing up in the church was wonderful. The love and teachings of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ help to give me focus and direction; I have a purpose, and I know without a doubt that I am loved. There was a time in my mid 20's I became inactive in the church, but I never at anytime questioned the truthfulness of the gospel. Through the patience of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and also that still small voice of the Holy Ghost; they directed the Relief Society sisters to my door with an invitation to come back to church. When I pray, read the scriptures, and attend church meetings I feel such a since of peace and love; that I am a chosen and beloved daughter of our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying often, by gaining a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father. I live my faith by utilizing the atonement; I'm not perfect and I make mistakes, but I know that I can be forgiven and that no matter what I am loved. I live my faith by service to others, whether its donations of goods or a donation of my time. I live my faith by praying often and reading my scriptures. I live my faith by trying to be the best example of Christ's love that I can.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Through prayer, scripture study, and attending church meetings regularly. By talking directly with our Heavenly Father we will get the answers we need. They are not always the answers we want but they are always the answers we need. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Oh, absolutely. When I hear the prophet speak, that still small voice of the spirit feels my heart that this is truth, that our Heavenly Father has chosen this man to help guide and lead us in the path of righteousness. For me it makes no sense that Heavenly Father would not continue to have prophets on the earth today to help his beloved children. Show more Show less
