Hi I'm Adam

I'm a student in food science and an Army Reserve soldier. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Throughout my time growing up, I have always stood out. Maybe it's because I'm 6'8" tall, but also because I have always done my best to follow Jesus Christ in all I do. I have always been ambitious and pursued greatness. I played volleyball and water polo in high school, but never took as much interest in basketball because I am skinny and never had the weight to hold my ground. I stopped playing organized sports when going off to college, though, because I wanted to focus my attention on academics. I served a two-year church mission, and was blessed to meet and learn to love many people in my experience. I am now studying food science with a desire to pursue a graduate degree in agronomy. I have been married only a few months, but my wife and I draw on our faith in Jesus Christ to overcome the challenges we face in life and marriage. One of my greatest accomplishments is to have enlisted in the Army Reserve and completed initial entry training last summer. My gratitude for the freedoms I enjoy has always instilled in me a desire to serve, and I am proud to call myself and American soldier, prizing especially the freedom to worship God as I do. My wife initially couldn't stand my decision to enlist, but after praying and receiving comfort from God, she has always been supportive of my commitment to serve. I love her for that.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He saves me from sin and the problems that I experience in life. There is no ignoring the pain I feel in doing things that are wrong, and there is no mistaking the peace I feel when I pray to God and ask for forgiveness for my sins. God lives and answers my prayers, and the sacrifice and love of Jesus Christ makes it possible for me to receive peace. I know that God is my Heavenly Father. Following Him and Jesus Christ makes me happy. I feel the Spirit of God when I worship Him, especially when I study His word in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I have been blessed to be baptized by God's authority in His Church, receive His holy priesthood to bless others also, and be sealed to my wife forever in a temple of God. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet of God on the earth today. I have prayed to God about these things, and He has answered my prayers. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's true church on the earth today. It has been ordained of God to show us the way back to live with Him in happiness forever. Heavenly Father's Spirit testifies of truth. I feel His Spirit when I worship in His church, go to His temples, listen to His prophets, and study His words in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Faith isn't a once a week activity. I apply it everyday because I know that following God is the only way to be truly happy. I do my best to pray and study God's word daily. I serve as a counselor to the head of my congregation because I love others and want them to feel the love of Jesus Christ for them. I study in school with the hope that I can one day have a positive influence on the world. Faith can be applied to all our activities, and faith in Jesus Christ makes everything that I do worthwhile.
