Hi I'm Ron

I work indoors yet love to play outside. I thrive on sharing a great adventure with others. I'm a soccer dad and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

All my life, I have loved to go on adventures. Having a destination to aim for with a purpose to fulfill makes life fun and exciting wherever we are going. Yet in the journey, the lessons learned and the experiences that we share with others along the way are the most valuable things. Mountains are meant to be climbed. Waves are meant to be ridden. Lessons are meant to be learned. My family and friends are there to share my life experiences with. My God is there to lead me home.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always valued the spiritual experiences in my life. Recognizing that I have spiritual experiences has helped me to spend more time cultivating good things in my life. I am inspired by the life of our Savior and the example that he has provided for us. The love that eminates from our Savior Jesus Christ helps me to understand the love that I should show to others around me. The warmth that I feel when I am reading the scriptures helps me to know that they are teaching me correct principles. The love and feeling I can have in my heart when I receive an answer to my prayer is a wonderful blessing. My Father in Heaven confirms to me when my thoughts and motives are in the right place. He cares about my life, my trials and my troubles. I feel that He will always be there to help me in my journey when i ask. He will provide a way for me to find joy and peace in my life when i am willing to accept His help.

How I live my faith

I live my faith, first, through searching the scriptures for personal spiritual understanding and then through helping others find their own understanding through shared experiences. Throughout my life, I have been blessed with a sensitivity to recognize spiritual things. I find happiness through feeling the spirit of Jesus Christ in my personal study of the scriptures, in hearing or singing a hymn or song of praise and through listening to others relating their personal witnesses of their Savior. I have found great fulfillment through helping others to progress towards recognizing and understanding their spirituality and finding their own witness of Jesus Christ. This has often come coupled with experiencing adventures while in the wilderness. The great outdoors is a place where I love to spend time and share an adventure. River rafting, rock climbing and mountaineering have all been activities where physical and spiritual growth have been part of a parallel journey. Making your way down a river through rapids or reaching the top of a mountain to culminate a climb can bring a great reward. However, the reward at the end of a spiritual journey comes with it an awakening to new and wonderful feelings that can change our lives. We all have spiritual roots. Finding them and understanding them are the keys to our personal happiness and fulfillment. The most valuable experiences that I have gained in my life have been through working with my own family and friends towards the fulfillment of our righteous desires. I now find myself serving my ward as their Bishop. I know that through prayer and searching, my Father in Heaven will show me the way to understand His Gospel and make a difference in the lives of others.

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Look towards the Savior while you listen to what people have to say about spiritual things. As things ring true while you listen, continue. Don't be afraid of moving closer towards good or better things. Let the Savior be your guide. Show more Show less
