Hi I'm Alan

I think life is a crazy ride and I can't wait to see what tomorrow holds for me, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in San Diego, CA, and I have been a member my whole life. I still live in San Diego and I build elevators for a living. Yes, people actually DO build those things. As far as church goes, I went astray during my teenage years. I really didn't believe in the church and had to find out if it was something I really wanted to be part of. I had a life changing experience at a very unexpected time. Since then, I've never looked back. I served a mission and married the hottest woman alive. We have three awesome children and try out best to follow the straight and narrow.

Why I am a Mormon

The church is true. All the proof I have ever needed has been beaten over my head to the point that I'd be a lying fool if I denied it. I wish it wasn't true because I naturally want to get into trouble. Since it IS true, I don't have a choice but to obey what I know is right.

How I live my faith

Right now, I am the leader of the organization of men between the ages of 18 and 45. It's such an amazing time of life. During these years, we are all raising young families and working our tails off to make ends meet. In a world where everything demands our attention, it's an honor to serve with men who make time for the Lord.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Any book that speaks the truth about God is scripture. The Bible is scripture from one side of the world and the Book of Mormon is scripture from another side of the world. There is so much we don't know. I'd love to read Mary's journal that might contain stories of Christ's youth. That would be scripture as much as any other holy book. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

I can tell you the best way to find out if it's false is to ask people that don't believe in it. They have no shortage of reasons to prove us wrong. Would you want to try a new restaurant after being bombarded with news about how bad it is? They could make the best food you've ever tasted, but you'll never know unless you try with an open mind. This gospel is the same. Don't ask me as a believer. Don't ask they other guy as a non-believer. Ask God with an open heart and be prepared for the ride of your life. Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost wants us to be perfect. He doesn't just tell us things to bring us closer to God. He tells us things that will make us happy. That means, he might help up remember our 3 o'clock appointment or prompt us to fill up the gas tank before going to bed. He helps us know truth when we see it. I can't explain how he makes you feel, but you'll know when you feel it. The gift of the Holy Ghost is not temporary help from when we need it most. It's a promise to ALWAYS have his help no matter how trivial our matters may be. Show more Show less
