Hi I'm Steven Tarbet

I am a father, a husband, an accountant and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of five wonderful children! My children constantly make me smile! As a family, we read together, play games, play in our yard, ride our bicycles, disc golf and visit relatives. We love to cook and eat out on our patio as soon as the weather starts to get warm. I am an accountant. I work full time and we are fortunate that my wife is afforded the opportunity to be a stay at home mom. I look forward to coming home from work each day and talking with my family about their day.

Why I am a Mormon

As I was growing up, my parents took me to church each week. Now as a father, I take my children to church each week. We love attending church as a family and are grateful for the things we are taught at church. God has a plan for us here on earth called the plan of happiness. I have learned that I am happy when I obey the commandments that Heavenly Father has given us. Speaking of his children, God said, "And we will prove them herewith, to see if they will do all things whatsoever the Lord their God shall command them." In John 13:35, Jesus said, "A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another, as I have loved you, that ye also love another." We show our love to our fellowmen by serving them. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I have had the opportunity of being served and giving service. There is much satisfaction in serving our fellowmen. Obedience brings me happiness. Our Father in Heaven has give us agency that we may choose for ourselves how we will live and what we will do. I try to teach my family the importance of making good choices and the freedom we have as we choose to do what is right.

How I live my faith

My family and I currently attend church in Spanish. After serving a two year mission for my church in Spain and learning Spanish, our family now has the opportunity to attend church with people that live in our community and speak Spanish. My wife and I go to the temple each month. We are fortunate that there is a temple within an hours drive of our home. Worshipping in the temple brings us closer to our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ and makes us happy. There is a saying, "The family that prays together, stays together." As a family, we pray together and read in the scriptures each day. These simple acts help us to be united as a family and help us to remember our Father in Heaven and the mercy he has extended to us, his children.
