Hi I'm Dave

"O, God, Thy Sea Is So Great And My Boat Is So Small"

About Me

Hi! I live in Washington State. My wife and I live with our dog Sammy on a boat on the Puget Sound. She was built in the year 1929, so we get a lot of looks. We have five children, and seven Grandchildren. We own a small business supplying Auto Body Shops with every color of paint imaginable. Here in the Northwest we have a lot of rain, but it makes the summertime all the better. (You can't beat the summers in the Northwest). We love crabbing, Salmon fishing,Scuba diving, and watching the NW wildlife (Orca Whales, Blad Eagles, and Sea Lions to name a few). I relax with the guitar. I've played for a long time. We have Canadian Geese as our "pets". They love the bread balls we feed them. Living on the water affords us the unique opportunity to watch nature at it's finest. Many people ask, "how do you like living on a boat?". My reply.... :-)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have come to know my purpose in life. Living as a Mormon has given me insight how to conduct myself as a husband, a father and as a man through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

On Sundays, I (along with another adult), teach 12-13 year old young men in a Sunday School setting. We also plan activities and service projects. On Tuesdays, we meet for Scouting activies,

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Dave
I think too many these days need to find happiness through stimulants, immorality, and short lived thrills. As a convert, I've lived in both "worlds". Going without alcohol, tobacco, and coffee has been a blessing. For me and my family. Living a Mormon life means living without these things. It means having family night on Mondays. It means having family prayer at night. It means working hard at our job, and socializing with friends and neighbors (both Mormon and those of other faiths). As a Christain I share the values of other Christians. We celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas and traditional holidays. And we honor the Sabbath day by going to Church, Sunday School, Choir, and other Sabbath activities. Show more Show less
