Hi I'm Dave

I am a magician, Illusionist, entertainer and a presenter. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I work as an entertainer and love magic. I have worked as an illusionist for the past 10 years and have had some great experiences. I run a theatre company with my wife and also we have a costume making company and a dance shop ( As my dad always says 'I will do anything than get a real job!!'). I love what I do as no day is the same and the best thing is I get to meet lots of different people. I have a daughter who is 21 months who is the happiest person I have ever seen. I grew up around canal boats and lived on a narrow boat for a few years. I studied performing arts in wales and love to return there to see my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I investigated the church after being introduced to it by a girl I use to work with. That girl is now my wife and mother of our daughter. I never grew up with a religion and to be honest, never felt I needed one until I found 'The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. Like many others I had not even heard about the church never mind knew about what a Mormon believed. I remember being taught by the Missionaries of the church and thinking how it all seemed to make sense. Although I was raised by wonderful parents and many of the characteristics of living the gospel I had already been taught, there where some small changes I had to make and in doing so my life has changed so much for the better. Firstly by living and obeying the commandments I have seen how this has blessed my life. It has brought more fun and happiness into my life than I could have ever thought possible. I understand where my life is going and the purpose of being here on earth. I am currently serving as a Bishop and what a wonderful blessing that is. To serve in such a calling has given me many opportunities to see how others can and have changed their lives and become happier. I am the only member in my family and that has not always been easy but i have learn't that as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and through the way in which I live my life does not only bring happiness for me but also for those around me. I am happier now than I ever been in my life. I have a testimony of the gospel and know that if we strive to live as our Savior did and remember we are sons and daughters of a Heavenly Father then we can change our lives for the better. The Gospel is fun and I invite all to come unto Christ and find out more.

How I live my faith

The Gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives and it defiantly did so for me. I live my faith everyday and being a Mormon is more than attending a church weekly. I have many opportunities in my work and church calling as the Bishop of the ward to interact and be involved in peoples lives to help them and serve those in the gospel and others of different faiths. I Have an important responsibility as a husband and father to look after and care for my wife and daughter not only physically but spiritually as well. As I serve others i find my faith in Jesus Christ increases and my testimony of the gospel grows stronger. My Faith is about action and action can change lives. Life isn't always easy and we face many different challenges in our daily lives but knowing the plan of why we are here helps me to face those challenges and help others too. I love to arrange activities at church and also in the community. I find that those times when people meet together and laughing together, enjoying each others company is what the gospel is about.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not worship Joseph smith, we worship God our Eternal father and Jesus Christ. We do acknowledge Joseph smith as a prophet of god and the person who was instrumental in restoring the gospel to the earth. Show more Show less
