Hi I'm Jared Brock

I am a husband, a father, a musician and a computer nerd. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Florida, and have lived in Utah, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona and Ohio. (where I served my mission.) I am married, the father of 3 children, have a job as an IT Professional, and a dream of being a professional musician. I am an Eagle Scout, a graduate from 4 years of Seminary, and have attended two different Colleges in the Dayton Ohio Area.

Why I am a Mormon

There are a lot of reasons why I am a Mormon. True, I did grow up in the Mormon faith, but I still had to gain my own testimony of just what it meant to be a Mormon. I am a Mormon because this is the only church where nobody ever tried to "prove" something to me about religion. I was always simply encouraged to search out the answer, think about it in my head, and pray about it. And that if I believe that God would hear and answer my prayers, he would. I am a Mormon because I love how everything in the Mormon Church centers around families. I believe that we are all brothers and sisters, and that we have a loving Heavenly Father, who sent our big brother, Jesus Christ, to set the example for us and make it possible for us to see our Heavenly Father again someday. I am a Mormon because I believe that faith is an action word... a verb, and not a noun. Being a Mormon means that I am a Christian my entire life, and not just while I am in church on Sunday. I am a Mormon because I believe that God is the same now as he was in the time of the Old Testament. I believe that we have prophets and apostles upon the face of the earth today, just as we did back then.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a Christian every day, not just when I am at church. The gospel of Jesus Christ is one of love and happiness, and I try and show that by finding reasons to be happy every day. I have a little sign on my desk at work that reads, "Greet each day with love in your heart, and end each day with success." The scriptures tell us "... by their fruits ye shall know them...". I love life, and I show that by greeting each day with a resounding smile on my face, and in my heart.

Are Mormons Christians?

Jared Brock
Without a doubt, yes. I have many friends of different beliefs; both Christian and non-Christian. All of them will tell you that I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He is the one and only way to return to our Father in Heaven. I believe that Jesus lived and died for me, just as he did for every other person. Without him, there is no plan of happiness, because true happiness comes from him, and the spirit that his teachings bring. Show more Show less
