Hi I'm Stephen

I have lived all over the US and served a mission in CA. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am first and foremost a follower of the Savior of Jesus Christ. I believe in His gospel and want to be able to return to Him and my Father in Heaven one day. I am also a husband to a wonderful woman who is talented and gifted in so many ways. I am also a father of four beatuiful children. The oldest is nine and the youngest is three. Needless to say, there is never a dull moment in our house. I recently finished my college degree while working full-time. What was I thinking? It has been rewarding none-the-less. When I am not working, I enjoy playing with my kids, working out, and being a sports fan.

Why I am a Mormon

I gained a testimony of the restored gospel when I was a youth. When I was 10 years old, my father and I were able to spend a few quiet moments in the sacred grove. This is where Joseph Smith saw the Father and the Son and was instucted at that time to not join himself with any of the sects that was organized in that area. He was instructed that he would be used as an instrument in God's hands in restoring the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness to the earth. I had the impression while I was standing there with my Dad that I was standing on hollowed ground. The spirit was so strong it filled my spirit with a sensation that I had not felt this strongly before. That same feeling of revelation, inspiration, and confirmation has attended me as I have made many important decisions in my life. I feel the same as I ponder the scriptures, including the Book of Mormon, kneel in prayer with my family, and share the gospel with others. I know that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

It is easy to become overwhelmed with the many activities, meetings, and projects that members of the church are constantly engaged in. The most important meeting that I attend is a weekly Sacrament Meeting. Here I can renew all of the covenants that I have made. I can strengthen my focus on living a Christ-like life, and I can be instructed on doctrinal principles of the gospel. Although this is only a small slice of what the church offers, I see it as the only mandatory activity. The rest is voluntary. I am happy however to volunteer and participate in many of the other church activities becasue of the blessings that come from rendering service, learning the gospel, and giving of our time, talents, and resources. I am fortunate to have one of the best callings in the church. I am the Ward Mission Leader in our ward. I get to work with the full-time missionaries and meet many of the people that they are teaching and working with. It is so rewarding to be a part of someone's journey and witness the growth that they experience as they pray for the first time, or read from the Book of Mormon. I am fortunate to be blessed with a truly wonderful family. My wife and four children provide me joy, purpose, and a desire to be the best in everything that I do. they are a very real reason for my belief in this gospel. I feel like everything that is taught points to the strengthening of the family and bringing us back into the prescence of our Father in Heaven.
