Hi I'm Susan

I'm a Mormon. I know my life has been vastly enriched since my conversion nine years ago.

About Me

I retired a year ago from the USPS and enjoying every minute of retirement! A few of my interests are genealogy, jewely design, and improving my computer skills. I am happily married and a doting Grandmother. We are actively involved in our church and count our blessings every day!

Why I am a Mormon

I began reading books about the Mormons, studying the doctrines and beliefs. I spoke with Missionaries (which I highly recommend, to find answers for yourself). I read the Book of Mormon, prayed for guidance and would like to say, in a most heartfelt way, I believe this is the true church of Christ on this Earth today.

How I live my faith

Members of my church are 'my family' and helping them is very fulfilling. This is 'service'... and service to others is the same as helping the Lord. It is very rewarding and we've witnessed the many blessings that come our way. We don't just help members, but those in need are helped Worldwide. I remember when Hurricane Katrina was heading straight for New Orleans, our church already had trucks loaded and on the way there with supplies.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Susan
In the Spirit World, the restored gospel is preached to those who died without receiving it in mortality. Those souls never had the chance in this lifetime to enjoy the full blessings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many in the Spirit World may accept the gospel but without a body they can't receive the ordinances necessary for salvation. We can help our ancestors receive eternal salvation by doing this very important work for them. They have free agency to accept or decline. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Susan
Actually, I've been asked, "Why do you worship that man who started your church?" I smile when I hear this because we do not worship him. We don't even pray to him! By the power of the Lord, Joseph Smith organized again on earth God's kingdom. His greatness lies in the work that he did, the spiritual capacity he developed, and the witness he bore of the Redeemer. Christ is the head of our church. The NAME of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Show more Show less
