Hi I'm Matt

a college student with big goals in life and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a junior in College studying Physiology and Developmental Biology and looking at going into the field of Optometry. I served a two-year mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mexico, having just returned in January 2011. I love the outdoors. I grew up in Northern Minnesota and I love being out on the lake or in the woods. I enjoy hunting, reading, ping-pong, ultimate Frisbee, most other sports, and I play the Saxophone. Plus,  I am bilingual speaking Spanish as a second language.

Why I am a Mormon

Many say that I might have had it easy, being raised a member of the Church. However, I still had to find my Testimony, just as everyone else does. I found that testimony over the course of my life. However, everyone needs to take a stand. Either its true or it isn't. When I got to that point in my life, i seriously read the Book of Mormon, and prayed with more sincerity that I never had before. I know that the Lord answered my prayer for i felt the warmth, love and peace of the Spirit. I am a Mormon, because i know that this church is true. Because, i learned that for myself, not because someone convinced me, or forced me to do it, but because the Lord answered my prayer.

How I live my faith

I love going to church to partake of the Sacrament. Church is definitely the best part of my week. Its important to get and stay involved in ward activities. With the activities I have really come to love my ward and feel like they are my family away from home. Apart from the activities its important to always be reading and studying the scriptures and the words from the living prophets. I love reading their words because the spirit can be felt strongly.
