Hi I'm John

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a graduate of Brigham Young University in Accounting. I'm married to a beautiful lady, who I met while serving a two-year mission for the Church. We have three daughters and three sons. I enjoy the outdoors, camping, fishing, boating, and hiking.

Why I am a Mormon

While growing up, my mother suffered from alcoholism. When I was nine years-old, she was involved in a fatal automobile accident, which claimed the life of the other motorist. My mother was incarcerated and my two older sisters and I went to live with my step-father's parents, who were Mormon. As I started attending the Mormon Church I felt a great love and peace for the first time in my life. I've never doubted since that Heavenly Father has given me a chance to know His truth, to live my life, making a difference each day especially with my family.

How I live my faith

After graduating from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, I was offered a full-time position with a large accounting firm in Atlanta,Georgia, my wife's home state. After two years of employment, an job opportunity with the Mormon Church was brought to my attention. So in 1993, I started working for the Corporation of the Presiding Bishop in Welfare Services Department. The guiding principles of the Welfare Department are to care for the poor and needy, to foster self-reliance, and to provide service opportunities for others. Although I'm a paid employee of the Church, I've been given opportunities to serve my church in various ways. One of the most meaningful service opportunities has been working with the young men organizations.
