Hi I'm Carrie Lucinda Westergard

I am a Grandma who loves hiking and fly fishing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother and grandma who loves the outdoors and loves being at home. When I'm home I am in my kitchen creating delicious food for everyone to enjoy or in my sewing room making quilts, but if my grandchildren are in the house I drop everything to play with them. My husband and I both love the outdoors especially the mountains, so since we live in the desert we take as many vacations as we can to the mountains where we enjoy hiking and fly fishing.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a little girl I loved going to church and singing songs with the other children about Jesus that taught me that He loved me and that I am a child of God. I felt good and felt like I was where I should be. I continue to feel that way as I live the standards set by Jesus for me to keep me safe and happy. I love the way I feel at Church and in the Temple because I am still taught the same simple truths I learned as a small girl that Jesus loves me and I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father. It brings me comfort knowing that families are central to God's plan and that our family can be together forever. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer and I know that He answers my prayers. He is always there for me and is my best friend and inspires me to always do my best. Jesus Christ makes my life complete giving me hope and faith in myself and in our world.

How I live my faith

My husband and I serve in a congregation of young adults ranging from the ages 18 to 31. We have so much fun being with them, whether we are worshipping together or participating in a recreational activity together. We enjoy the opportunities we have to teach, counsel, listen, and learn from them as they share with us the challenges they face out in the world. We feel so blessed to be a part of their lives as they each are at such pivotal points of decision in their lives and we are grateful that we can encourage them to always keep their Savior at the center of their lives. Serving together as husband and wife and serving as mentors and leaders to young adults is one of the most rewarding opportunities we have shared as a couple.
