Hi I'm David Excell

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father, grandfather, and retired law enforcement officer. My greatest joy is my family. My wife and I have three sons and one daughter. We have nine grandsons to complement our three granddaughters. We are expecting our tenth grandson in December 2016.

Why I am a Mormon

I gained a testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ as a teenager. I was raised in a small town where the Church was the predominate religion. However, my parents were not of the same church, my father being LDS and my mother a non-practicing Lutheran. I saw the quiet and joyful way other families were living their faith and I noticed the profound happiness of faithful Mormon families. I also listened to the testimonies of many saints and knew early on in my life of the mission of Jesus Christ as my Savior and of the divine mission of the Prophet Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

I served a mission for the Church when I was 19 years old. I spent two years teaching the restored gospel to the wonderful people of Korea. During that time, my faith increased and my conviction of the gospel was solidified. I have tried to remain faithful to my belief by serving in various church callings. Some of those assignments have included teacher, ward missionary, scouting, youth leadership, bishop, stake presidency, and volunteer institute teacher. I am currently with my wife as missionaries in the Canada Halifax Mission. I am convinced that service in the Church is directly responsible for the many blessings I enjoy.
