Hi I'm Brent

I love the mountains, outdoor activities, being a grandfather and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a grandfather of 15 grandchildren. I am currently serving with my wife as President of the Maryland Baltimore Mission where we are responsible for 120 missionaries in a volunteer capacity. I previously worked as a Manager of Statistics for an HJ Heinz Corporation, as a Practice Director for Oracle, and as a private consultant. I also taught Statistics and Operations Management for 25 years at a university. I coached youth basketball for 12 years, served in many position with the Boy Scouts, and in many church assignments. I love the outdoors, to ride my horses, snowmobile, water and snow ski, backpack and fish. I still enjoy playing basketball. I built a cabin where we love to spend time with our family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate to born into a large Mormon family. I grew up in a home where we had many fun experiences together. There were many challenges, however, I always knew that my parents loved me, as well as my brothers and sisters. I felt the strength of my parent's belief as we would kneel together in family prayer. I witnessed how God answered prayers. Through many different experiences, I realized that God knew me. When I made wise choices, I was happy and at peace. As a young teenager, our family visited some of the historical sites of the Church. While standing in the Carthage Jail where Joseph and Hyrum Smith were martyred, I had an unmistakable feeling that Joseph Smith was indeed a prophet of God. That knowledge has been greatly enhanced as I have gained a conviction that the Book of Mormon is the word of God.

How I live my faith

I have been priviliged to serve in many capacities in church callings. Working with youth and young adults has brought much satisfaction. Numerous experiences on activities such as camping, backpacking, fishing, boating, and many other activities have been extremely rewarding. I have enjoyed teaching them the blessings of living the gospel of Jesus Christ as found in the scriptures, and the peace and happiness that comes from living the commandments.
