Hi I'm Valerie

I'm a Mormon mom who loves her family and is trying to help them keep the faith.

About Me

I live with my husband and family that consists of 4 boys and 1 girl. I've taught piano lessons for over 20 years in my home, and continue to play the piano for the choir at church. After almost 25 years of being a stay at home mom, I decided to learn a skill that could support me if something happened to my husband. So, I went to a local trade college and learned Phlebotomy. I actually work part-time as an office worker at the State University , and volunteer at the local Veteran's Hospital doing Phlebotomy a couple afternoons a week. I started volunteering when I couldn't find work, because of inexperience. But I like being at the VA Hospital, because I'm a military mom of a Marine and a Navy Submariner.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that were members, so I was baptized when I was 8 years old. I have always loved being a member of the church, and know that my Heavenly Father and Savior know me personally. My life has been greatly blessed through the years to have actively lived the gospel. I have great joy when my family choose to live the gospel as well. I know that this is Christ's church upon the earth, and know that my family and I will prosper as we follow the counsel of our living prophet.

How I live my faith

I am actively involved with my ward and am the ward choir accompanist, which I really love to do. I also have a great partner who loves Visiting Teaching and inspires me to go beyond just getting the numbers. I have been the Compassionate Service leader for 10 months and have enjoyed coordinating the sisters in compassionate service for the families in need in our ward. My husband and I were just called to serve as ward missionaries together and I'm looking forward to being his companion. I try to live as a faithful member of the church would live. I try to dress modestly, avoid alcohol and caffeine, and seek after virtuous and lovely things.
