Hi I'm Nathanial

I'm dating again after my divorce. I have a beautiful two year-old daughter, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a full time student and father. I am divorced and am getting ready to start dating again. The Church has helped me heal through this process. I was in Infantry-man in the 82nd Airborne Division and had a 9 month deployment to Iraq in 04. I play the guitar (if not all that well) I'm going to school to be a High School English teacher and my dream is to teach at my old high-school and inspire future generations the same way my teachers did for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints because when things are tough in my life, staying true to Christ always helps me stay strong; emotionally, mentally and spiritually. I know this because when I've gone through difficult times and turned my back on the Lord, my burdens are mine alone and it feels like the world is imploding upon me. When I go to church on Sunday and take the Sacrament, it's a promise that I'll do my best to be my best. In the end, it's between me and God as to how well I do in this life and taking the Sacrament is one of the most beautiful and personal ways that I can show MY loving Father in Heaven that I know he cares and that He knows that I care too.

How I live my faith

I think the easiest way to describe how I live my faith is through application. When I apply the principles of the gospel in my life, I'm happier, I see the world through a more pure lens and can see the beauty in the chaos. It helps me see the things that I can and need to change and that these things start with me. I can see the hidden love of others. I can live.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

We give a tenth of all we receive for many reasons. One reason it to show that we are willing to sacrifice in a material way, not just in deed. Another obvious reason is to help further the cause of the organization. With this money, the church builds new church buildings and Temples, send its members on missions to help spread the gospel; the church also offers a wide variety of humanitarian services to those in need around the world as well as around the block. The money given also helps those who wish to further their education. However, I believe the most important reason we give is to try and emulate Christ. We cannot come close to the type of sacrifice He gave the world, but through his example, we can learn to give with joy and celebrate our ability to help and serve other we most likely will never see. Giving a full tithe blesses me in so many ways. Show more Show less
