Hi I'm Emily

I am a surfer, a homeschool mom and a Mormon.

About Me

I am 39 years old. I live in Capitola, California with my husband and 3 kids. We homeschool our kids and love to explore nature, especially at the ocean, one of our favorite playgrounds. We all enjoy surfing in our free time.  We also enjoy skateboarding, baseball (Go Giants!), swimming, skiing, and snowboarding.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was baptized when I was 8 years old but like all of us, had to gain my own knowledge and faith in what I was raised. I have had many spiritual experiences that have confirmed the truthfulness of the beliefs I was taught. Everyday I am grateful for the knowlege and faith that Christ's gospel brings to me and my family.

How I live my faith

It seems that daily I am given the opportunity to live my faith, to share my beliefs and love of God with others especially my own children. I can see God's hand all around me, in the beauty of the earth, and the love I feel from Christ as I pray and read his words in the scriptures both the Bible and the Book of Mormon.

Are Mormons Christians?

Emily
Contrary to what many people have heard, the name of our church is not the "Mormon" church. It is the "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". We believe that Jesus Christ was born a babe in Bethlehem. That he was the literal son of God and born to the virgin Mary. We believe that he suffered for our pains, afflictions, temptations and sorrows. He then died for us on the cross. He did this so that we can all be forgiven for our shortcomings and sins and be able to return to the presence of God and dwell with him forever after this life. Jesus is truly the way, the truth and the life and through him we can be saved. Show more Show less
