Hi I'm Günter

For my job I treat people who have problems with their back. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For a long time a worked as a nurse in the operation room. Since I had problems with my spine because of my work, I had to change my job. I found some help with my back and decided help people understand how to find help with their back problems.

Why I am a Mormon

After the death of my mum and my divorce, my life was shattered to pieces. I was an alcohol and tobacco addict. In fall 1977 I got to know the Mormon missionaries at one of their street displays. They gave me a Book of Mormon and wanted to set an appointment with me. I didn't intend of going there. I went home, to drop the book and go to the next bar. At home I wanted to know what kind of book I got here, so I began to read. I couldn't stop reading. At 1 o'clock at night, I knew that I had to go to the appointment the next day. The missionaries were astonished to see me. After the discussion about the premortal life, they invited me to a baptismal service on Saturday. After the baptismal service I had a lot to ponder about. So I went outside to the parking lot and had a smoke. Someone from the ward said: "You don't know the church that long either, do you?" My response was: "No, but I want to be baptized soon." Monday was my next appointment with the missionaries. I bought some beer and lemonade. As we talked about the commandments I understood, why the missionaries rejected my beer. As we finished the discussion I offered the prayer and asked Heavenly Father to help me keep the word of wisdom. I do not know, what the Lord did to my body, but from that day on I never again touched alcohol nor cigarette without having any withdrawal symptoms. The next day, when the missionaries visited me, my first question was, when can i be baptized. Ten days after I got to know the missionaries I was baptized and I testify to you, that no matter, whether alcoholic or scientist, God knows each of his children and wants each of us to return to him. He will help us, if we are desirous to return. I now have a dear wife, three children and six grandchildren. And I felt the dealings of Christ in my life, so that I know that he lives and he loves us, and helps us to change our lives, so we can find true happiness. In the name of Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

After I joined the church I had several responsibilities in my ward. A lot of time I spent with the missionaries. At the moment I am a secretary for the finances of our ward.
