Hi I'm Amanda.

I'm a registered nurse. I'm a wife. I'm a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit of a local hospital. My husband and I have been married over 5 years, and we have a son who is 2 1/2 and a baby girl on the way. Being a wife and a mother is the best thing of my life! My son brings us so much joy! I love to cook (and eat)! We like the outdoors and love to go to parks and go on walks. In the summer, we like to go swimming. I like to read and play the piano in my spare time.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born, both my parents were already members of the church. My dad joined the church after he married my mom. She tells the story that it was part of the deal - if he wanted to marry her, he had to join the church! And I'm so grateful that he did! It has been a huge blessing in my life to have both my parents be members of the church and teach me about Jesus from a young age. I remember during middle school I was questioning whether or not the church was true. I remember praying and reading the Book of Mormon and asking God if it was true. I asked if Joseph Smith really saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Later that year I went to a church youth camp. We saw a slide show of pictures of Christ with music testifying of him. I had tears coming down my face. It was at that moment that I knew I could say: I KNOW THIS CHURCH IS TRUE!

How I live my faith

I am a leader of the 8-11 year old girl's group at my church. We have close to 7 girls that come to activities twice a month. I help to plan the activities. Sometimes we do service for the community, other times we learn skills like baking bread. We also have activities that are just for fun and friendship like learning how to line dance or we have a group birthday party. It is a great way for the girls to have fun and get to know each other outside of our Sunday lessons. We always start and end with prayer, and share goals to pray daily and read scriptures. I love being a leader of this girls' group, because it reminds me how precious children and the youth are to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
