Hi I'm Josh

I'm a husband, a father, a teacher, a photographer, a food enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my growing family and how much I am learning at home with them. We love to dance. I teach modern foreign languages at a high school. My parents are from the Philippines, I was born in Germany, I grew up much of my life in England. I served as a missionary in Portugal and I have lived in Spain too. My wife's parents are from England, she was born in Switzerland and she grew up in France. Our background has had a great influence to who we are now. Travelling the world, tasting delicious foods and capturing the most cherished memories through photographs are very much part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always grown up in the church. The gospel has always been a part of my life. Despite this, I knew that I had to know with confidence whether these things were true for myself. I believe that there is much more good in the world than bad. I believe in seeing the best in people and when trials and tribulations face us to try and respond positively. By simply acting on what I feel to be right and good, I have seen things that I consider to be miracles around me from overcoming fear and doubt to the birth of my children and the honour of being their dad. I know that we have a loving Father in Heaven. I know that Jesus Christ died for us and that He lives. I know that we have a living prophet today and that Joseph Smith restored the Church. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. As I have lived and loved what I believe to be true, I have had much love, peace and joy in my life.

How I live my faith

As a disciple of Jesus Christ, I try to follow His example on a daily basis. There are always challenges in life but it is how we respond to them that shows our faith. I try to study, believe, live, love and teach the doctrines and principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ each day. I currently serve as the bishop in my ward. This calling has given me the opportunity to learn even more about myself and to serve others both in and outside of the church to an even greater capacity. This is helping and blessing me to do what matters most in my family life, my professional life, my church life and my personal life.
