Hi I'm Mont

I love to run, shine flashlights and illuminate my path with Love from the Light of Life.

About Me

I grew up in University Place, Washington but have lived in many places in the US pursuing various jobs from Binghamton, New York and Flower Mound, Texas to Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Yorba Linda, California. A graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering and love to solve problems, build things and improve efficiencies in production processes. My career began at IBM in printed circuit manufacturing and then moved into software application marketing. I currently run a manufacturing company that makes a patented rubber structure for anti-fatigue and fall protection flooring/mats. My sweet heart, Heather, and I have 7 children and 17 grandchildren. We love family time! Although I love to run, speed is only necessary when I am in pursuit of my 17 active grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

Although my parents taught me to believe in and love God, I knew Him only in theory, until one day I had to turn to Him in mighty prayer. At the age of 10, I accidentally ran over a young neighbor girl with my bicycle. They thought her neck had been broken and possibly she would be marred for life. As a 10 year old, I wasn't prepared to deal with the potential consequences of such an accident. I locked myself in my room and poured out my heart to God, pleading with Him that she would be healed. He answered my prayers and the doctor said she would be ok. Now the theory had become a reality for me and I knew that God was in the heavens and heard my prayers. Prayer became the spiritual foundation of my life. While on a 30-day wilderness survival expedition and all alone in a rocky canyon in southern Utah, I read in the Book of Mormon about the visit of the Savior to the people of Nephi and prayed to find out if it was true. The Spirit of the Lord whispered to my heart a warm assurance and burning feeling that it was true, that He lived and the Book of Mormon was indeed His word, a companion to the Bible. I thank our Father every day for the Atonement of His Son and the opportunity to repent of my errors, to be cleansed and freed from the pain of my sins. I am His, a disciple of Christ.

How I live my faith

I have embraced this faith because it brings me joy. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ and strive to follow what He taught. Daily prayer and scripture study keep me focused on His path. As I look at the life of the Savior, I find that He was often found serving and helping those in need. I think the greatest joy I have experienced is the joy of helping individuals, and seeing the light of the Gospel brighten their eyes and lift their hearts. Those of the world do not understand that when a person is truly converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, their heart fills with charity, the pure, unselfish love of Christ. When you experience this love, the joy that fills your heart is indescribable and all other earthly pursuits lose significance; developing and feeling this love becomes the focus of your life.
