Hi I'm Jennie Sawyers

I grew up in a small town in Arizona. I am a wife and a mother to 3 beautiful children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife. I am a mother. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am a friend. I am a leader. I am a writer. I love to cook. I love to read. I love to craft.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in this church. I have a family legacy full of pioneer stories. I have ancestors who crossed the plains and sacrificed for their religious beliefs and in turn my religious beliefs. But that is not why I am a Mormon. I am Mormon because Families are Forever. I am Mormon because I love my husband, my children, my parents, and siblings so much I want to be with them for all eternity. When I married my husband, the officiant did not say, "till death do you part", no he said, "For time AND all eternity". I know because my Savior came to this earth and atoned for my sins, I can return to my Heavenly Father's presence and be with my family FOREVER. There's nothing that I want more than to be with the ones I love for all eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every minute of every day. I am trying my hardest to raise my three kids to be honest, valiant, trustworthy, and loving. We read the scriptures and say prayers every night. It's important to me that my kids understand the importance of the scriptures and knowing the stories of our Savior. I also work with the youth of the church ages 12-18. I am the President of the Young Women organization. I meet with these beautiful daughters of God each Thursday night for an activity night and then again on Sunday. We're gearing up for the re-dedication of our temple here in Atlanta. The Youth will be able to dance and sing in front of the Prophet. The girls are also getting ready for Girl's Camp. A time when each girl will have the chance to grow her testimony. My faith is very important to me. My faith is not a Sunday only thing for me, it is my life.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Jennie Sawyers
The Mormon Prophet is Thomas S. Monson. He is called by God, and I will never forget raising my hand to sustain him as a Prophet, Seer and Revelator. It was during a session of General Conference and my 18 month old son and I were watching, my husband was working. In our church, we sustain those who are asked to serve. As a general assembly of the church we were asked to sustain President Thomas S. Monson as our Prophet. Everyone had the chance to sustain him, from the men in the church on down to my sweet 18 month old. Everyone voice was heard and everyone's sustaining vote accounted for. I will never forget the feeling that over came me as I received my own confirmation that President Monson was ordained of God. Show more Show less
