Hi I'm Michelle

I am a stay at home mum, a wife, a seamstress, a crafter, an American and an Australian and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Four years ago I moved to the other side of the world. I was raised in Australia, and decided at a young age that I wanted to attend Brigham Young University. So at 19 I packed up my two suitcases and moved to the US leaving everything that was familiar to me. While attending BYU I met my husband, had our beautiful baby girl, and discovered my love of sewing (just to name a bit). I love crafting and creating things from very little (based on my limited student budget). For the past three years we have been 'starving students' enjoying our simple life. I am now a stay at home mother. I love getting to spend every minute of the day with our little angel, even if that means I am covered in spit up, slobber and food. I love taking care of our little family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a Latter Day Saint home. However I grew up in a place that did not have many people who shared my faith. This tested what I believed and caused me to ponder on how I wanted to live my life. Many people told me that the reason I choose to not drink alcohol, swear or engage in promiscuity was because my church told me not too. This made me really think about why I was choosing this lifestyle. After hanging out with some of my friends who lived different lifestyles to me, I found that I did not truely feel happy, and the warmth and comfort of the spirit was gone. I came to know that when I was actively participating in the gospel of Jesus Christ, I was happier and had the comfort of the spirit with me. This church has taught me how to be truely happy. Although I do not participate in all the things that the world offers, I do not feel as though I have missed out on anything. I feel as though I have more. Sometimes I can not put into words the happiness and light that the teachings of the gospel give to me. Not only does it allow me to understand my purpose. I also has provided me with an eternal family. The knowledge that I can be with my family for all eternity because I was sealed in the temple, brings such comfort and joy to me. Knowing that after I leave this life I will be with my husband and children again brings me more happiness that I can explain! Who would not want this blessing!

How I live my faith

As a member of the church I have been able to serve in many different ways. I have taught children and adults lessons on sundays and have been in charge of coordinating the women's organisation in our ward. I currently help to organise frequent activities for women to participate in throughout the week. I do not necessarily have specific skills for these things, but have found that while serving I have learned many new skills and developed a greater love for those around me.
