Hi I'm Chantel

I'm a nuclear engineering student, a sister, an aunt and a friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student studying nuclear engineering. I love music and dancing, especially Latin and swing. I also enjoy reading, particularly Jane Austen and other classics, baking and watching movies with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know my Savior died to save me from the pain of sin and sorrow. He invites us to come unto Him and partake of His grace. He is truth and light and gives me hope that no matter what tomorrow brings, I will be able to come out of it safely if I walk with Him always. Our Heavenly Father loves us enough that he has given us a plan to lead to eternal joy and happiness. I know that His gospel was restored to the Earth to bring light to a world of darkness and I will always choose to walk in the light. My Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me and I love them; because I love them, I will follow the example my Savior set for me.

How I live my faith

I am able to serve in an amazing group of young single adults as we struggle through a trying time of life. I have been given the gift of leading the women in our group by organizing lessons and activities that help bring us close to the Savior. I am also able to assist in organizing my sisters to help make sure that everyone's needs are met. We are able to visit particular women to make sure that they are being constantly fed and strengthened spiritually. Living away from family can be lonely, but we have a branch family with whom we share not only our Sabbath day but family home evenings, game nights, birthday parties etc. More importantly we have people we can trust to always help us and love us. My faith in Christ is my light in the darkness and in our small branch of the church we can shine more brightly as we are protected from the buffetings of the world.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

The Mormon church is the same church that Christ established when he lived on the Earth. In our time, Joseph Smith was called by God the Father and Jesus Christ to be a prophet and to restore truths that had become lost and confused after almost two centuries without a prophet to guide the church.
