Hi I'm Cameron

I am the oldest of five siblings. I grew up in a small midwestern town. I am a Scientist. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am the father of five children. I enjoy model railroading, singing, and acting with my wife. I am a chemist at a medical device manufacturer. I really enjoy music.

Why I am a Mormon

The main reason I am a Mormon is that my grandparents were Mormons. They taught my parents and they in turn taught me. That's how I was introduced to the Church. But that's not why I am still a Mormon. I have never really had a singular moment that I can point to as when I became converted, it has been a gradual day by day process. I feel in my heart that the gospel is true. Everything the church teaches makes sense to me. It just fits like a puzzle piece. I have prayed to my Heavenly Father and asked him if the Mormon Church is true, if the Book of Mormon really is his word, if Joseph Smith was a prophet. Every time I do this, I receive an answer in my heart. I do know that the church is true and that by following it's teachings, I can become more like my savior Jesus Christ. I also know that when anyone prays to their Father in Heaven, He will answer.

How I live my faith

I have just received the calling of Ward Mission Leader. This means that I am in charge of helping coordinate between the Missionaries and the members that live in the area the missionaries serve in. Since I am fairly new to this calling I am trying to discover ways help reach others that are searching for God.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

This is my favorite question. In the Bible it states that a man must be born of water and of the spirit to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, therefore, one of the requirements to return to live with Heavenly Father is Baptism How would someone that has never known about Jesus Christ know that they need to be baptized? What about someone that never got the opportunity to be baptized? When that person dies, Heavenly Father would not be just in allowing that person to enter His kingdom without being baptized. This is why a living member can go to the Temple and receive the ordinance of Baptism in the place of people that have not been baptized. Show more Show less
