Hi I'm Kyle

I'm a future doctor, a snowboarder, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 24 year old premed student hoping to become a physician some day. I love running, biking, basketball, snowboarding, and really any and every competitive sport. I grew up in the church and I love being a member. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ offers me hope and strength that I need in this difficult world. My mother and brother have both passed away. It has been difficult learning how to live and adapt to life as it is now without them. My faith has been tried in intense ways through my trials. However, I know what I know. I know Jesus Christ loves me. He died for my family, and He was resurrected. One day my family and I will all be resurrected because of Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been through a lot of challenges. My brother passed away a few years ago, and my mother recently passed away. The thing about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is that it offers peace and hope in dark situations. There have been times where I couldn't feel peace. But as I've prayed and read from the Book of Mormon I've come to feel the peace only Jesus Christ can give. I know that through Jesus Christ I will be with my brother and my mother again. Most importantly, I am a Mormon because I know Mormonism is true! I am a Mormon because I know Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith. He called him to be a prophet, to restore Christ's church. The doctrines in this church aren't man made. Jesus established the church and He continues to govern the church. I know this because I've prayed and asked God. He let me know through the Holy Ghost that it's true! It has been such a strength to me, to have not a man made religion, but Jesus Christ's own church to attend. I feel the Spirit so strongly each time I attend church. God gives me peace when I attend. It helps me keep what we call an eternal perspective when my world gets cloudy with grief. I have learned that God lets bad things happen to us. He loves us and from the challenges He will help us grow. Through the challenges He will help us become happier. I am happiest in my life when I make Jesus Christ a priority by following what is taught in the Mormon Church.

How I live my faith

I try to treat other people like Jesus Christ would treat them. Some people are harder to love than others. The trick is to try and love as He loves. As I've tried to see myself and others as Jesus Christ sees us, I have been blessed with so much happiness. I am not perfect, but I try to keep the commandments and do what God asks of us in the scriptures and through modern day prophets.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I used to not be sure if our prophet today really is a prophet like Moses was. I was so confused. Someone told me that I need to pray about it. So I did. I prayed and asked God if Thomas Monson was a prophet. Sure enough, I didn't get an answer. Yea, it sometimes feels like everyone else gets answers but me. But, this time I didn't give up. I kept asking God if he was a prophet. I started reading his talks he's given. It took what felt like forever, but I finally received an answer. One morning I was reading a talk Thomas Monson gave about life after death. I have lost loved ones, and for some reason this talk just struck me. I felt in my heart that it was true. I knew that Thomas Monson was a prophet of God. I think it was the Holy Ghost that just filled my soul and let me know it was true. Since then my life has just seemed to be a lot happier. I'm glad that I didn't give up on trying to find out the truth for myself. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

We can increase our faith in Jesus Christ by doing what he commands us to do. "If any man will do His will he shall know of the doctrine whether it be of God or whether I speak of myself." As we do all that he commands we are blessed more deeply and come to know more fully who He is and how much He loves us. Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

I atrribute the growth of this church to the power of God. It isn't the tact, talent, or wisdom of any of its members that recruited me or anyone else into this church. It is simply the power of the Holy Ghost that I feel when I attend and as I live the teachings, that keeps me coming back to church along with millions of others. Show more Show less
