Hi I'm Brynja

I'm a Floridian. I love laughter. I'm on a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently serving an 18 month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Idaho. After my mission I will continue with my college education, major undecided, again. I'd like to just be a beach bum. I love laughing, snorkeling, kayaking, drawing, photography, playing board games and just having fun time. "Some people are always going to be grumpy and say, 'I only like how things used to be.' But nothing ever stays the same, You can't build fences around life… it's just this on going process. All you can do is keep paddling. It's simple… there's always goning to be another wave coming"

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the end of my Senior year of High School. I am a Mormon because of small and simple things and good examples. I have family that are faithful members of this church, including my grandparents. After my parents divorced I lived with them for a while, and it began there when I would observe my grandparents reading their scriptures and saying prayers together. I wondered why in the world they would do such a thing. As I got older I began to realize that having a faith in something bigger than yourself makes it possible to get through the challenges of life. Eventually I sought out the missionaries and began meeting with them on a regular basis. I began to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. As I did so with a sincere heart I received an overwhelming feeling that this church is true, and that Heavenly Father never leaves His children alone. Following this path was beginning to and continues to bring happiness into my life that I could find no where else. Life isn't perfect, and it will continue to be a roller-coaster ride. But, our Savior Jesus Christ has walked the path we have walked, so we can go through this life being happy. If there is anyone who truly understands how we feel it is Him. He will always be our greatest example.

How I live my faith

For me, it is an everyday choice to live as close to the Savior as I can, and trying to always stay there. I try to live my faith by making good choices. How I am living my faith in this moment, is by serving a mission. This gospel is the best gift that has ever been given to me, and I would be selfish to not want to share this glad message with others. As we come closer to the Savior and resist the bad influences in life, the foundation that we are built upon in Christ grows stronger and we can make it through anything.
