Hi I'm Melissa.

I'm a wife, 4 little people call me Mom, I love to read, create, design, & laugh. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I have been married for 9 years & I have 4 kids-2 boys, 2 girls. They are my joy! I am the oldest of 7 kids- 6 girls, 1 boy. I grew up in 5 different states & love to see new things. I love to find joy in every day life. I love to teach my little family the basic gospel principles. I love photography, reading, creating, cooking, & more than anything- being with my family. I love watching movies together, playing together, cooking together, and of course laughing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is the best thing to be! I know that by being Mormon, I know who I am! I know I am a daughter of God with divine potential. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me & wants me to succeed.

How I live my faith

With 4 kids under the age of 6, life is very busy. However, every night we still manage to eat & talk together. We have Family Home Evening every Monday night where we always sing the same song- "I Am A Child of God" thanks to my 3 year old. :) Our lessons are only about 5 minutes long, and when we read the scriptures each night, we only read a couple of verses. However, I know that "line upon line, precept upon precept" is what works for our family. I know that by teaching my children the simple principles of the gospel while they are young will help them more fully understand in the future.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Melissa.
We know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God! We know that He was born of the virgin Mary in Bethlehem. We know that He was baptized by John the Baptist in the River Jordan. We know that He was crucified & that He died for each one of us. We know that three days after His death, He was resurrected. We know that just as Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that we too are children of our Heavenly Father & that He loves us & wants us to return to Him someday. We know that because of Jesus Christ's death & sacrifice for us, that each of us can return to live with not only our Heavenly Father, but even our elder brother- Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Melissa.
Many times through out my life, I have noticed the beauty of the world around me. The crisp autumn breeze with the changing leaves, the sound of fresh water in the spring, the smell of blossoms, the beauty of the first snow fall and the spacious sky above me have always told me that there was a God. However, I realized even more that not only was there a God, but that He was a major part of my life as I gave birth to each of my children. I remember with each birth & feeling the spirit of warmth & love so strong! I knew that this sweet little baby had just come from a loving Father in Heaven. I knew that it was my responsibility to teach him/her, love her, & prepare her. I loved holding each baby in my arms & counting their fingers & toes. How could there not be a God in a miracle such as a baby? To know that the eyes, ears, mouth, fingers, toes, legs, everything in this little body had just come together & was working properly! To be able to feel the baby kick inside & feel the different personalities of each one tell me that there is a God! I know that God loves my little family even more than I could ever comprehend. I know that He is aware of our pains & sorrows, as well as our laughter & joys. I know he hears our prayers! Show more Show less
