Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm a missionary, I absolutely LOVE food, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family that loves being active and enjoys the arts. I've been swimming since I was a little girl and kept swimming all through high school. I danced until I was 10 years old and I still tap my foot to the beat of songs that I'll hear on the radio or even choreograph dances in my head. I absolutely LOVE cooking and you will almost always find me with a book in my hand while I'm eating.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church and several times wondered if it was worth it to continue going to meetings or even continuing to pray. I'm glad that my family was there to help me out. They let me know that they would love me no matter what my decision was. It took me a while to realize that I love this gospel and the people in it that have helped me to become who I am today. I saw the discontent, the yearning for something more, and the hardships that my friends went through who didn't have this gospel. I'm not saying that Mormons are exempt from these hardships, but our faith and the gospel that we have makes our burdens so much easier to bear. The burden of death and the grieving process are accompanied by an inexpressable feeling of comfort because I know that I will be able to see my loved ones again and give them the biggest hug in the world. I also know that I'll be able to see those that have gone before me and to feel joy that accompanies a long waited reunion. I know that when we all die, we'll be able to see each other again. This faith has helped me through so much and all I had to do was remember the blessings in my life that accompanied my membership in this gospel. Some have called it a light, a glow, or they have just remarked that I seem like a happier person. The reassurance that this gospel gives me, allows me to feel incredible happiness and my faith helps me through so much. This is why I believe what I believe. This is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others and by keeping the commitments that I've made to my Father in Heaven to attend church and to living the way Christ would want me to. Living the faith may be the hardest thing you may do, but it is by far the most rewarding.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a lot like the Bible. No one specifically wrote the whole thing. The Book of Mormon, like the Bible, is a compilation of the teachings of the prophets. The only difference is that the Book of Mormon is a compilation of the teachings of the prophets on the American continent. The reason it is called the Book of Mormon, is due to the fact that the prophet Mormon was the one to compile the works and, therefore, the book is named after him. Kind of like how an abridgement of a book displays the name of the abridger but consists of the works of the other writers. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

The Bible is a testament of Jesus Christ. We believe in the Bible because, not only does it testify of Christ, it details prophecies and commandments given by God, through the prophets, from Adam down to the time of Christ. We are a Christian church and we hold the Bible as being a sacred text. Show more Show less
